Mrs. Jessen received a bachelor's degree in exceptional education,
K-12 from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) in 1993. She
went on to obtain a master’s degree in exceptional education, K-12 from
the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) in 1996. Mrs. Jessen
taught in the public school system in Jefferson County for 25 years (19
years taught exceptional education math and reading and 6 years taught sixth grade general education English language arts). She joined the Spring Valley family in November of 2018. Currently, she is in the process of getting CALT certification through Spring Valley.
In her spare time she loves spending time with her grandchildren,
going on all kinds of adventures. She also has two dogs, Marshall, a
German shepherd and Maggie May, a rescue, mixed, Alabama brown dog.
