George was born and raised in Alabama and though he's lived here for close to thirty years, he's somehow never grown accustomed to the tropical climate and rabid insect life! He received an undergraduate in History and a Masters in English literature from UAB, after which he taught English for five years before making a new home at Spring Valley.

Together, he and his wife Emma are raising a daughter in Irondale, where they like to watch every movie ever made, play board games, and eat a large variety of cheeseburgers.
