Abbie Wood

I graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors degree in Communicative Disorders and a Masters of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology. Roll Tide!
After college I worked as a speech-language pathologist in a rehabilitation center outside of Atlanta, GA for a year then, transitioned to the school setting in Cobb County, GA for a year. I moved to Birmingham in 2015 and have been an SLP for Leeds City Schools. In addition, I also worked part time for Puzzle Piece. I have also been fortunate to serve as a clinical supervisor for speech language pathology graduate students from Samford University. I have a passion for the pediatric population and am grateful to be a small part of my students’ lives. Every child brings a new and valuable perspective. I enjoy being able to empower children with the ability to communicate, learn, grow and build relationships with others.
My husband, Stephen, and I have two beautiful baby boys, McDonough and James. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, playing tennis, going for walks, going to the beach, and traveling.
