SVS Welcomes Second Speech-Language Pathologist
Spring Valley School (SVS) is honored to announce that a second part-time Speech-Language Pathologist will be joining the team beginning in August of 2023.
Spring Valley School (Birmingham, AL) exists to provide excellence in education for bright students with specific language-based and mathematics-based learning differences including Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia. Our Speech-Language Pathologists are integral to helping our students succeed in the areas of speech and language, and giving them the tools they need to excel across the curriculum.
Introducing SVS Speech-Language Pathologist, Abbie Wood, M.S., CCC-SLP:
Abbie graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelors degree in Communicative Disorders and a Masters of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology.
After college she worked as a speech-language pathologist in a rehabilitation center outside of Atlanta, GA for a year then, transitioned to the school setting in Cobb County, GA for a year. Abbie and her husband, Stephen, have two beautiful baby boys, McDonough (3) and James (7 months). Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, going for walks, going to the beach, and traveling.
