Alumni Spotlight: Jacob Fiveash Steps into Title Role of Sam's Room at Red Mountain Theatre

Birmingham, Alabama - Spring Valley School is honored to partner with Red Mountain Theatre in the new musical Sam's Room starring SVS's alumnus Jacob Fiveash as the title role. Two performances will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Red Mountain Theatre during the Human Rights New Works Festival.

Red Mountain Theatre describes the upcoming musical as a "groundbreaking pop concert/dramedy that follows Sam, a nonspeaking teenager, on his path to find a way to communicate. Struggling to reach others and buffeted by cruel reality, Sam’s pop star alter ego reminds us of the true power of the human voice."

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at redmountaintheatre.org. All tickets are $15 for general admission.

About Jacob Fiveash

Jacob Fiveash is a video artist and actor from Birmingham, Alabama where he produces his own YouTube channel. Mr. Fiveash lives life on the autism spectrum. Born as the oldest of three triplets, he and his brother Nick are a living example of neurodiversity. While Jacob is bubbly and outgoing, Nick is nonverbal and in need of much medical care. Through playing the role of a nonverbal young person in Sam’s Room, Jacob magnifies his brother’s voice. He is honored to be part of the cast and looks forward to working with such incredible writers, actors, directors, and producers.
