Admission Process
SVS currently serves between 130-150 students of average-to-above average intellectual ability in grades K-12. SVS students have been previously diagnosed with language-based or mathematics-based learning differences (such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia). SVS serves students from over 46 zip codes across Central Alabama. The school has been cited as a primary factor for some families moving to the Birmingham area.
While some of our students have a secondary diagnosis such as ADHD, our program does not accommodate students with behavioral or emotional difficulties.
Traditionally, Spring Valley School accepts new students through grade 10. Juniors and Seniors are are not generally admitted unless the student is transferring to the school from a similar out of state school.
