Life After SVS

Spring Valley has shown me that I do not have to be defined by my differences,

because my strengths count.

- Aubrie Strain, Class of 2024
At Spring Valley School, we are proud to report that 100% of our graduates are either enrolled in higher education institutions or employed upon graduation. This remarkable achievement reflects our commitment to academic excellence, personalized learning, and comprehensive college and career counseling. Whether our students pursue university degrees, technical training, or enter the workforce directly, they leave Spring Valley equipped with the skills, confidence, and direction needed for success in the next chapter of their lives. Our dedicated faculty and staff work closely with each student to ensure a clear and supported transition from high school to their chosen path.
Joseph Williamson, Class of 2018

"After graduating from SVS, I attended Shelton State College to learn welding. I completed their two-year certificate program in only one year, which helped me to secure a job in my field much sooner than my classmates. I have been working as a welder for almost five years now, and I couldn't imagine doing anything else." - Joseph Williamson, Class of 2018

A Place That Harnesses Potential

What Our Families Are Saying

I am writing to let you know how my daughter is doing.  She is doing wonderfully.  She has made the A Honor Roll for the first semester. She has been selected Student of the Month. She plays in the band. As you can see, she is flourishing right in front of our eyes. I don't believe that all of this could be possible without having attended Spring Valley. For that, I thank you all!

The best thing about my teachers is that they are actually fun and they care about you and want you to succeed.

- 8th Grade Student

The most important thing that I have learned from my teacher is "Don't give up."

- 5th Grade Student

The best thing about SVS is that my teacher is right there to help me anytime I need it.

- 3rd Grade Student

One of the best things about my teachers is that they care about how I learn and if my grades are good.

What a wonderful sanctuary of safety and learning!  We are thrilled that there is a dynamic learning institution in Birmingham committed to providing a foundation of educational success to those students with learning differences.

- Middle School Parent

Thanks to Spring Valley, my son has gone from a boy who struggled to read to a child who loves books.  If Spring Valley hadn't been here for my child we would have left the state!

What I like about Spring Valley is the fact that the relationship between teachers and parents is so one-on-one.  I have noticed tremendous improvement in my child's reading and she does not feel self conscious about reading in front of anyone.  Spring Valley has been a welcomed change.

- Alumni Parent

My student now comprehends and retains more than most high school students because the faculty at Spring Valley introduced him to audiobooks.

- Upper School Parent

My son who wanted to quit school at age 8 has begun to talk about what he wants to be when he grows up.

- Middle School Parent

Spring Valley School has been a lifesaver for our family. Youth who learn differently deserve a quality educational environment where they can excel and grow. Spring Valley encourages students to be better versions of themselves with amazing faculty, dedicated leadership and evidence based models. The low student/teacher ratio ensures that students truly understand concepts and build a foundation for learning. Children feel accepted and flourish when the teaching method is better suited to their learning style. We are grateful to Spring Valley and highly recommend it to families who are struggling with traditional settings. Visit once and see the difference.

- Suzanne, Alumni Parent

I was a student of SVS from 6th grade to my graduation from highschool. The faculty not only helped me learn about my learning difference and how to cope with it, they taught how to succeed. Both the faculty and the students have become my family and I plan to be apart of the schools growth from now to the future.
