KC Parker
KC Parker (she/her) is a dedicated educator teaching 1st and 2nd grades in English Language Arts and Social Studies, as well as providing dyslexia therapy. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Alabama (2015) and a Master of Education from The University of West Alabama (2019). Before joining Spring Valley School, KC taught at McElwain Christian Academy from 2016 to 2022.
An active member of the Kind Club, KC promotes kindness and community within the school. In her free time, she enjoys reading, needlepoint, hiking, and playing Mahjong. KC loves the family atmosphere at Spring Valley School, where students and teachers from all grades, 1st to 12th, know each other, creating a unique and supportive environment that fosters growth and connection. She engages her students in Social Studies through interactive activities like the bartering game, helping them learn about economics in a fun way.
KC emphasizes that having a learning difference may present challenges, but it also highlights extraordinary strengths in individuals. She appreciates that all lower school teachers at SVS are either Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALT), Certified Academic Language Practitioners (CALP), or currently in training, enhancing their ability to support students throughout the day and making Spring Valley School a special place for learning.
