Gabe Evans
Gabe Evans is an enthusiastic Upper School Social Studies teacher at Spring Valley School. With a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, he has dedicated seven years to the history field, focusing on research and performance-based teaching. Gabe is deeply engaged in his students' learning experiences, often finding delight in the surprises they bring to the classroom each day.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Gabe is involved with the Chess Club and enjoys exploring game theory, solving Rubik's cubes, and participating in acting and comedy improv. His teaching philosophy embraces humor, underscoring the importance of laughter in learning and the emotional connections formed in the classroom.
Gabe's students have enjoyed creative projects such as making Founding Father Trading Cards, reflecting his commitment to engaging and dynamic education. He recognizes the broad spectrum of learning differences and emphasizes the need for patience and empathy in addressing each student's unique needs. Gabe believes in meeting students where they are and supporting their growth with genuine compassion.
He poignantly notes that teachers often cry at graduation—not from pride, but from a sense of loss, mourning the transition of students moving on, akin to a parent watching their child leave the nest.
