Brittany Sparks

Brittany Sparks is a 4th Grade Teacher and Dyslexia Therapist at Spring Valley School. She holds both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Elementary Education from The University of Alabama. Before joining Spring Valley, she spent three years teaching at a Title I school outside of Tuscaloosa. This is her second year at SVS.

Outside of teaching, Brittany enjoys attending spin classes. In her role at Spring Valley, she finds great joy in watching her students' self-confidence grow. One of her favorite moments is when they realize that not only are they capable of learning and completing tasks, but they can also take pride in their achievements.

In her classroom, multiplication is a particularly popular subject. Her students enjoy the challenge of solving complex problems and often ask for more. Brittany emphasizes that learning differences do not make anyone less capable; rather, they require different approaches. With the right support, individuals with learning differences can achieve as much, if not more, than their peers without these differences.

Brittany takes pride in meeting her students where they are academically, ensuring they receive grade-level instruction that is made accessible through multisensory strategies. She aims to create an environment where all students can thrive, regardless of their learning differences.
