General Information on Admissions
Welcome! We are excited that you have chosen to consider Spring
Valley School. We encourage you to visit our Web pages for more
information about our program. If you feel that your child meets our
admissions criteria, please request an information packet. You may
arrange for a school tour at any time by calling our office,
205-423-8660.

Admissions Criteria
Spring Valley School´s charter requires us to serve a very specific
population of students. Each student must:
- have a diagnosis of learning disability, attention deficit disorder (ADD),
or dyslexia
- have an average or above-average intellectual ability as demonstrated
by scores on a WISC
Spring Valley does not have the expertise required to accept students
with the following diagnosis:
- behavior problems
- emotional disorders
- oppositional defiance
- developmental disorder
- autism
Admissions Procedure
Return the following paperwork to the school:
- Completed admissions form (front and back). To download, click
here.
- Recent testing that includes a WISC as well as achievement tests
- A current IEP
- A copy of last year’s report card as well as a current report
card
- Any information from a clinician that would be helpful
- If space is available at the grade level requested, a student visit
will be scheduled.
Spring Valley makes admissions decisions based upon the information that
parents provide. Parents are responsible for full disclosure.

“Can Do!”
We encourage all of our students to take command of their own learning process,
and we encourage a sense of “can do” on the part of all of our
students. Visit our school and see the activities in which our children
are involved. |
